About Melodeers Chorus

Meet the Melodeers

The Melodeers Chorus was incorporated in 1960 in Deerfield, IL as a women's a capella chorus affiliated with Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide, non-profit organization dedicated to women’s four-part, a capella, barbershop style harmony.

The Melodeers perform a variety of musical styles from classical to pop, all a capella (unaccompanied). We pride ourselves on musical excellence regardless of the style of music. The chorus has a history of excellence, winning multiple regional, national and international awards.

The Melodeers have had a rich and rewarding history. The chorus is regularly invited to sing the National Anthem at Chicago Cubs home games, and performs throughout Chicago-land.
In 2014, in Baltimore, Maryland, the Melodeers Chorus made history by becoming the first Sweet Adelines Chorus to win 7 International Championships. They are honored to have achieved record-breaking scores in Sweet Adelines International competition, setting a new standard of excellence in the world of women’s barbershop harmony.

The chorus draws its membership of talented women from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. The Melodeers have been dedicated to producing the finest in four-part harmony since 1960. Our passion for singing compels us to drive from four states and a total of 21,306 miles each week – nearly the circumference of the earth – to rehearse with the world-renowned Melodeers Chorus.
